Hi,

Im new to this site and I'm hoping someone can help me out. I have been trying to find a recipe for a classic wedding cake frosting. Not the one with a whipped topping in it but the one that is really sweet and has a little bit of a crust to it. I would really appreciate any help.
Thanks

Welcome to CC!
If you go to the recipes section of this site, there are several crusting buttercream icing recipes that are wonderful!

Here is my mother's Wedding cake frosting:

2 cups Crisco (creamed well)
add 2 lbs of powdered sugar
then 3 to 5 oz of very hot water with 1 tsp vanilla and 1 tsp almond flavoring and a dash of salt. Mix well.

It crusts very nice too!

Hope this helps!
