I had posted an earlier thread entitled "What if..." but the suggestion was made that I change the title to see if anyone else had some ideas. I have a Wonder Mold cake pan (have had it for years, it was given to me) and in the last 24-hours I've decided I'd like to make a doll cake to raffle at our Relay For Life on FRIDAY (as in day-after-tomorrow) night. icon_confused.gif BUT..now I've discovered the heating rod is missing from the pan. I'm looking for suggestions on what to use or if someone lives near me and has one I could borrow! Thanks; you "guys" are AWESOME! thumbs_up.gif

Could you use an aluminum rod from a building supply house? If it's new an clean, it should not hurt the quality of the cake. I'm not sure, but that's my idea. Maybe someone else has a better idea. Good Luck!!!!!

I agree with lilie , I picked up an aluminum tube from the aluminum mfg. that I used to work for. Good luck.

WOW! icon_surprised.gif I sent an email to Wilton early today and I've received a reply already. They are sending me, free of charge, a new heating rod for my pan. My second email from them said I should received it in 5 to7 business days. I'm amazed! Thanks everyone for your input. I really appreciate your help. Happy Decorating!!! thumbs_up.gif

That's cool, I'll have to keep that in mind instead of improvising next time. Thanks for the info.
