Hi All,

Can anyone offer helpful hints on how to ice corners of square cakes.
I made a cake this weekend and my corners were a mess. icon_cry.gif

I saw some icing smoother on someone's site the other day that looked like something I might order one day. They're for doing edges and corners. Pretty cool. Will have to look for that site again. I know it was a man's site. His name? Have to think on that part. LOL

Carol Ann I would love to know of this gizmo you speak of. I have a square cake due in 2 weeks and would love to have all the help possible! I've seen and tried the tutorial but when I pulled the spatula away they icing came with it! Maybe my icing was too thin. I love those razor sharp corners on square cakes.

Here's the link to those edgers I mentioned. I may be ordering some of these soon. Hope this helps someone out.

it looks like those edgers are for cakes covered in fondant only?
Do you think they could be used on BC covered cakes?

I just recently made a square wedding cake and what I did was cut my boards about a quarter of an inch larger than the cake and using a spackling knife, I filled the edges with BC until it met the edges of the board and then smoothed it out. When you hold the spackling knife even with the edge of the board, you can follow it around.
