An edible image is a picture/graphic/photo that is printed onto edible paper using edible ink and a compatible inkjet printer.

To make them yourself, you'd need a new compatible inkjet printer like a Canon iP3000 or iP1500, edible paper (frosting sheets) and edible ink cartridges. You can find more info, a list of other printers and supplies at www.kopykake.com

Some bakeries/shops have the technology to print directly on top of a cake but most use the process described above to put pictures on cakes, cupcakes and cookies.
