Hubby just called he wants me to make a lemon cake for his mother tomorrow I have a good lemon cake recipe the icing is like a whipped cream (very soft) icing I want to decorate it using lemons in some way or another I thought about using fresh lemons but I dont want them to leak in the icing like I said the icing is just like whipped cream, does anyone have any ideas how I can decorate with fresh lemons please help! I thought if their was a way to sugar lemons like we sugar grapes has any one tried that before?

Grate some lemon zest or make curls from the rind?... possibly tint the frosting a pale yellow? Best of luck!
I would really like to put sliced fresh lemons but I afread they would weep then I'd have a wet Frosting

Are you familiar with the candy lemon slices that are made out of the same stuff gumdrops are. They come in organge slices, lemon slices, etc. You could make some very thin candied lemon slices out of the skins. They r good too. You won't have to worry about any leaking and you can just strew them on the top.
