When is the best time to place the frosting sheet on the cake? In other words how long can the cake sit with the frosting sheet before the cake is delivered and eaten? I just don't want the colors to fade. I printed up a test sheet a week ago and the white around the emblem has just turned green from the ink. I really don't want that happening on this cake!!!!!

Was the image exposed to light? That can cause fading which with black, it can go green. I've put an edible image on a cake several days before I needed it. I always store my edible image cakes in the fridge, in a cake box (no window), loosely covered with plastic wrap. It keeps the images looking as good as the day I put them on the cake.

You know Lisa, I thought about that right after I posted last night. It has been exposed to light by sitting in a Ziploc on my dining room table. I then remembered that "you're not supposed to do that" icon_rolleyes.gificon_redface.gif The new image I printed is safely tucked away in the dark. I don't however have a way to keep the cake in a dark place until tomorrow morning! I can't fit it in my fridge either. The sheet doesn't have to be refrigerated after it's placed on the cake does it???

No it doesn't. That's just something I do. Can you put the cake in a cake box (no window)? Or do you have a dark room or closet you can put the cake in?
