I want to do something for my daughter's birthday cake. I have chocolate rounds and yellow rounds and I want to have a different filling for each. Both are going to be covered with a pink, plain ( I presume, unless you have a better suggestion) BC. I was thinking of something with OREOS for the chocolate one. It has to be able to sit out, AND cannot have any peanut products in it. Suggestions? Thanks!!

There is a recipe for a cookies N cream filling; you should check that out. I have used caramel as a filling before; that might be good for the vanilla; or chocolate BC.

Try mixing some crushed Oreos with BC for your filling for the chocolate cake. For your yellow, how about mixing strawberry preserves with BC. Both of these taste great and can sit out. The strawberry will also go well with your pink BC!! Good luck! thumbs_up.gif

Hey Pink,
There must be a secret because on my last cake, I tried using raspberry preserves and it was a MESS. It seemed to break down over time so it oozed out. First I just took off the fondant and redid the outside, then it still oozed, so I had to take the whole thing apart, redo the middle and recover the outside. So, what's the tricK???

Sorry, I just now saw this. Are you putting a dam of BC around your layer before you add your filling? That's what I do to hold in the filling. If you did that also, then I'm not sure why it kept oozing out unless you overfilled it. icon_confused.gif

I don't know either. Maybe it was the kind of preserves that I used. It seems like they broke down the BC and make the whole concoction gooey. I'll have to try again. Thanks
