I just had a really good cake today that had a thick layer of a custard cream mixed with fresh strawberries as a filling. I was sooooo good.

Does anyone have any good ideas for a good custard I can make? Thank you!!

jello cheesecake mix works really well with strawberries yum.

From the Pie and Pastry Bible, there is an awesome rescipe for a whipped cream pastry cream that is killer! I use it for fruit tarts but it works equally well in a cake.
