Hahaha...you confessed for me!!

I have to say that I like some grocery store cakes from the bakery I guess it depends on the store. Since Twinsy said she was getting one it made me want cake. So I sent my dh to the store & he came back with a mini german chocolate cake from the bakery...IT WAS NOT GOOD!!!!!!!!!! The frosting tasted like straight chocolate crisco & it had a horrible chemical taste that made my tongue burn icon_eek.gificon_eek.gif What a waste of calories icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

We have a small grocery store here where I live and their german choclate cake is fabulous. Though I must say I have not bought any cakes since I started decorating.

My son and I are the only ones in the house that will eat cake, so that makes me not buy them cause we end up throwing most of it out (or I sit and finish it off).

I haven't bought a cake in a while but I only seem to find time to make cakes and cookies for other people or for Christmas. The last 2 times I wanted to send cookies to school with my son they were the Pillsbury presliced, ready to pop in the oven kind!

i really like these cookies from walmart and kroger!

they are sugar cookies, but they are more dense, like cake a little, and they have pink frosting, AND sprinkles... icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

but if i eat more than one or two i feel sickkkk they are too much!

I havent done it since January...but I am guilty to. I am used to not being able to take home processed foods to the daycares so for my sons first bday party in regular school, I bought the star wars cupcake cake. Yeah, I got yelled at by the teachers for not bringing in my cake! rofl I made up for it on Valentines...but I wont do that again.

Occasionally I will buy a frozen pie or cheesecake to take to a BBQ or something if I am too busy. But I kick myself if I run out of time and have to eat our nasty bakeries stuff.

we confess! My family first thought that cake in a pyrex pan with canned frosting was the be-all end-all. I know...GROSS!!!! What's even more funny, my mom (mommachris) made the same cake for ALL of our birthdays! It was a present cake with fruit roll up for the ribbon and skittles/M&M's as the sides. We pulled up some old family pictures and saw the same cake in ALL OF THEM! IT LOOKED LIKE A FAKE!!!

OK all you people out there with a store bought cake in the house... icon_twisted.gif(especially you ge978 icon_wink.gif ) Throw it away! Go ahead... you can do it...just pick it up and toss it! You don't need anymore store bought cake... do ya? Come on, be honest! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Does going to Dairy Queen and buying an ice cream cake count???? We've done that! It was quicker doing that then for me to make one.... and it was good..... in fact I think a piece right now would be great for breakfast.....

I haven't bought a store cake in a LOOOONNG time!! We don't have very good grocery stores in the area! I did just attend my little brother's b-day party recently and my mother didn't want to spring a cake on me at the last minute so she bought one from her local p&C and of course I turned my nose up at her icon_sad.gif and was like don't think I'm eating that thing ewwww you bought a store cake. Needless to say I had 2 pieces icon_wink.gif It was actually REALLY good!!! Usually frosting's from the stores taste like barf (??) don't have another explaination.

But I still won't buy the cakes.. I do like the sugar cookies w/the frosting, but don't buy them too often cause I HATE sprinkles and it takes forever to scrape them off the top.

I got my daughter's smash cake for her first birthday from the grocery store but the was only because I was too busy with the main cake, plus it was free. I will never say no to free cake!
