Is there any Wilton Instructors out here that are currently teaching the four week gumpaste course? I would like to know if you would share photos of your displays and let me know what you think about the course. Do the students like it - what are their responses like.
I am going to be teaching the class in June and would love some imput.
Thanks!

You might want to try PMing TheCakeWizard. She is an instructor here in the Richmond area, and I took her gumpaste class a couple months ago.

Hi, Tracy. I teach at a Michaels store where I offer Beginning Gumpaste about three times a year. I also have this course on the June schedule. Yes, I think the students like the course. Its only the students who are truly interested in gumpaste that take it. The supply list is pretty extensive but those that know something about gumpaste also know it's quite a bargain to take eight hours of gumpaste class for only $25! My store won't pay for displays but I sometimes do gumpaste during the hourly pay demo times. I understand Wilton will soon be marketting a ready made gumpaste product and I am anxious to see it. I also understand they are developing a gumpaste course with set instructions like the cake courses or the project classes. Is that what you are asking about? I developed my own syllabus for the course I teach now.

Hey Sweet Teacher -
Yes, I am talking about the four week course that Wilton is offer. Our store already has all the new products out. The new ready made gumpaste is really nice. An friend of mine - also and instructor and I got together Sunday and started working on the displays. In the course we have three projects that we have to have made for the students to see - as they will be making them on the fourth night. It is really awesome. So since you created your own class - what flowers are you teaching?

Thanks VA Cakelady - I am currently working on my display and will post it when I am finished. Travel at the end of the week so I think it might take me a little longer than I would like. LOL!! But thank you for the tip. So did you enjoy the gumpaste class? What type of flowers did you make? Thanks again, Tracy
