I have a request for a cake that looks like a present, 3 tiers, no problem. Then she says "Ya know the ones with an opened lid". Well I have no idea how to do the ones with a lid. I get the idea of propping it underneath the lid but what is the lid made from? any help would be great!!! She wants it topsy turvy style, can I run a rod down the middle with the lids? Thanks, Misty
what if you made it out of Rice krispy treats or styrofoam covered in fondant? Maybe that would work. HTH
I covered a real box lid with fondant, but styrofoam or rice krispies would work fine too. You just prop it up with dowels and put the tissue in their to hide the dowels.

Thanks. Yes, I'm having the same problem too. Can't figure out how to post comments so I'm doing them as PMs for now. Glad you like this cake.
