How much batter goes into each pan to bake a cake....Do you use an entire cake mix or only part of one??

TIA

One box will fit into both pans. But, you don't need to use the pans till your last class. I just finished Course II this week. Have fun!

Wilton.com has a chart that tells you how much batter, how many it will serve, etc. There is also one on here.
I believe it was in articles. I looked it up the other day for someone else.
Cake Baking, Cutting & Serving Guide - 2 in. Deep Pans This is the article you need. Don't know how to post the link, but just go to article page and you will find it.

Funny thing I got up early this morning to bake my cake for this weekend and used the oval pans from Course II. I added pudding, s. cream and rum to my mix and got the two pans + 3 cupcakes. I did trim a little from each pan so if I had made 5 cupcakes instead it probably would have been perfect. HTH

Yes, one cake mix will fit into both pans. It makes a very tall take! If you doctor the mix, you will get more batter.

I have used these pans twice and had problems with my cake falling. it is the same recipe I use in all my other pans, and have never had a problem with it. I thought I was the only one, but then one of my classmates had the same problem. Also with a recipe she has used before with no problems.

Are we the only ones? What would cause this if we haven't had problems in any other pans (and I have used round, square, sheet, hex, heart, and petal with no problems-all in the same oven)

Thanks

Leily

I had problems with these pans also. My friend and I have been taking classes together and have come to the conclusion that this is the reason why you can't just buy the pans. I found that if I put the flower nail in the pan, it bakes up just fine. Without the nail, my cake gets brown outside and still soupy on the inside.

Gosh.... I love those pans, and have used them probably 50 times with no problems. I use enhanced mixes~~~~~ If I only had one pair of pans....they'd be my favorites!!!!!!

By the way you can buy the oval pans, the oval pans come in a set of one per size, 7 3/4" x 5 3/4", 10 3/4"x 7 7/8", 13 1/2" x 9 7/8", and 16 1/2 x 12 3/8". They are all very nice pans.
