Hi,
I have just baked a wilton 3d car pan and absolutely DRENCHED it with my cake release and still a heap of it stuck to the top of the pan. I have scraped it off the pan and stuck it back onto the car, which is now a bit bumpy. Has anyone else had success with this pan and what did you grease it with???
Many thanks

I use a normal amount of cake release. Was it totally cool before you removed it? If it is warm, you are asking for trouble.

You could use shortening to grease it and then coat it lightly with flour.

You might try freezing it in the pan. When you take it out, warm the pan all over with a hairdryer or gas stove flame (be careful). It should flip right out. I always do this with shaped bears.

I always use shortening and flour for everything and I have never had a problem!

Thankyou so much!
Jenn123, I thought it was cooled totally, but was maybe too impatient.
I will try the freezer idea!
Thanks again

I still like using the old Crisco and flour. For the pans with lots of indentations I use a pastry brush for the Crisco. Otherwise a sandwich bag over my hand. I find with some of the character and specialty pans, cooling them in the pan on a cooling rack for 15 minutes works best for large regular cakes I always go 15-20 minutes. I don't go with the 10 minutes in the pan because I find that is asking for trouble often.
Hopr that helps!

I made the cake several times and only used pam to grease it. I let it set 10 minutes turned it over and it came out fine! HTH
