I have done this before, and all you really need to change is to make sure that you use some sort of heating core. Because the cake is so deep that you will crisp the outside and your inside will be under-cooked without one.Wilton sells a heating core here

Or, if you have any metal flower nails, simply use the "cake release" or grease and flour it the same way you would your cake pan or bowl in this instance.
Then place it in the center of the bowl on its head (so the nail is pointing towards the sky), then pour your batter in as you normally would.
Also, another tip, is to lower your cooking tempurature to around 325 - 330. And add an additional 10 -30 minutes of cooking time. This will give the center of the cake more time to fully cook without totally crisping the outside.
