We are expecting about 50-60 so I'm pretty sure we'll have enough.
I'm using the 12x18 pan. I can't remember where, but I read you'll get about 11 servings out of the cross pan. I'm trying to decide whether to slice the 1/2 sheet and fill it. My MIL loves extra cake.
Alot of people that will be there have not seen any of the cakes I've made to I'm a little nervous but what I was planning on doing is this:
The 1/2 sheet will be iced white, the cross will be mostly iced white except for the very top which I want to do in pink. Then I want to do white cornelli on top of that and border the edges with beads. Where the cross and the 1/2 meet decorate with pink ruffle then bead on top of that with white icing. (that cross idea was actually from one of the old wilton yearbooks).
Since I don't know how to do flowers yet, I bought a lily spray made out of royal icing from my local cake decorating store that I will set on top of the cross.
I was then thinking of pink beads around the top of the 1/2 sheet then on the bottom incorporate the pink ruffle again with white beads.
Hopefully the finished piece doesn't come out as overdone.
Does my description sound confusing?
How are you doing yours?
