Hey Everyone
I'm doing a detox diet and I'm supposed to cut out dairy.
Does anyone know if rice or soy milk will work in baking?
Thanks

Hi,

I have heard that soy milk works fine for baking, but I have not tried it. I drink soy and I have used it in cooking, and it works fine. Guess I need to bake with soy and find out.

Hi Ashly:
I have use soy milk and rice milk on my cakes and they taste okay to me. I think the best thing for you to do is to make a small cake and try it. It's the only way to find out before you invest on a big cake. Please let us know how it goes.
Have a great evening.
Tina

I use rice milk for drinking and cooking.
One thing that I have found with baking cakes, take the amount of milk required and substitute half that amount with rice milk and the other half with water. So water the rice milk down, or your cake with fall during the baking process.
