Im making a wedding cake, and its also my first time using fondant.
Heres the cake.
White base with fondant, then pink on top and down 1/2 the side. Heres the problems I had with my trial run.
I cant figure out how to make the pink stick the white. It just kinda stuck out, then when i pressed it down... well lets say it wasnt very pretty anymore.
Also Im having problems with the edges of my fondant cracking. Anyone know about this?
Thanks for all your help.

To prevent the edges of your fondant cracking, you need to rub gently with your fingers. This will help the fondant to stay smooth over the top edge of the cake.
If you are laying fondant over fondant, you will need some sort of glue to hold the two together otherwise they will not sit tightly together. You can use water brushed over the bottom layer of fondant and just carefully lay the top layer of fondant over being careful not to move it too much as it will stick on contact with the water. If you need a more serious glue between fondant, you can try egg white, royal icing or a glue made from mixing a little fondant with water to a paste.
I hope this helps!

For the edging, I just wet my fingertips and smooth down the dry areas. If I'm sticking two pieces of fondant together, I just get the underneath of the top piece wet and kinda stick it where it needs to go.
