The mmf pearls are not sticking to the foil wrap they used on the cake drum. I'm using buttercream. I don't have anything else made, any ideas what I can make quick to use as glue for the pearls?

Royal Icing would be the best, Royal Glue won't give you good adherance. Piping gel if you can't do Royal Icing.

Do you have an easy quick recipe for royal icing? Never really use it.
Thanks.

You only need a bit so:
1 Tablespoon Wilton Meringue Powder
1 1/3 cups powdered sugar
2 Tablespoons warm water*
Beat all ingredients until icing forms peaks (7-10 minutes at low speed with a heavy-duty mixer, 10-12 minutes at high speed with a hand-held mixer).
Another option, take some fondant and water it down a bit to make a glue.
Piping gel will sometimes hold things in place well too, clear piping gel.

Did you get your pearls attached! That can be a tedious process. Hope all went well!

You guys are too funny, LOL. I was still up but not posting because I was frantically working on my cake! I couldn't make the royal because everyone was sleeping and I couldn't use my mixer at that hour. DH thinks I'm nuts as it is, if he heard the mixer at 1 a.m. I'd never hear the end of it. I just quietly finished up my gumpaste roses and called it a night.

I did make the royal in the morning and it didn't work either. I don't know if I mixed it right, but it was just kind of thick and not sticky at all. It didn't resemble glue, that's for sure. I tried adding water a little at a time but the pearls were not sticking and I decided (after making about 350 pearls) that the cake looked better without them anyway. I just went for simple and elegant.

So....the cake came out beautiful and was a huge hit! I'm going to post about it tonight when I get home from work and can upload a photo.

Thanks for all of your help!

Glad it all worked out! It sounds like you needed to add more water yet! Piping gel works great also! Can't wait to see your finished product!
