HI there!

I have been making my childrens b-day cakes for about 5 years and REALLY ENJOY IT! Just wondering where do I start to get practice to become good enough to sell to the public? I read a biography on how a lady started doing cakes so she could stay in her home to work. Any suggestions on how to get started down this path would be sooo muchly appreciated.

Thanks.

You could start taking beginner's classes at your local craft store, like Michael's, Jo-Ann, or Hobby Lobby.
They usually offer 3 levels of classes and that will give you a great start to learning how to decorate.

You have many options - books, classes, video's -- all different avenues. I would suggest taking the Wilton classes offered at most large craft stores (like Michaels or AC Moore or Hobby Lobby) and some adult education offer classes. I'm sure others will think of other things as well. Good luck. thumbs_up.gif
