I am wanting to shrink wrap some cookies. Has anyone done this? Did you use a hair dryer or a professional heat gun? Where did you get supplies? Any tips? TIA!!

I found a roll of shrink wrap on the gift wrapping/bag/bow, etc. aisle at Hobby Lobby. It would probably be in the same area at any crafts store, I would imagine. I used my hair dryer...it worked fine. I just wrapped the cookie in the shrink wrap and sort of held it together on the back while using the hair dryer on it....went together pretty quick too. Oh...there were directions on the roll of shrink wrap that I bought, but it was so simple when I did it the first time that I threw the directions away! lol icon_lol.gif

JennT do you have a picture of your shrik wrapped cookies? I'd love to know what that looks like. I'm looking for a way to package cookies right now.

Not all plastic is considered "food safe". You can check with the health department, a county extension service, or the Department of Ag.

I shrink wrapped a bouquet of cookies is this what you mean????? I'll attatch a photo.......hopefully you can see the one that's shrink wrapped........in my opinion, it works really well, especially if you plan on shipping them, it actually helps to protect the cookies. I shipped mine from Jersey to Ohio and not one cookie so much as shed a crumb, they were all perfect......all I did was wad up some paper in the bottom of a box, lay the pot with cookies shrink wrapped, and then stuff paper all around and on top of it...and it showed up perfectly. My supplies, I actually ordered a while ago.....from Apex foods I believe......my husband and I had this brilliant idea to try to start a gift basket business....well, nobody ordered for the first year...so we figured we already lost thousands, might as well close up shop..all the gourmet foods, etc. had expired by then.......then all of a sudden people were calling all the time....go figure....anyhow I ordered like 100 different size shrink wrap bags for under 50 bucks.....and I just use a regular hair dryer on the highest setting.......I always start at the bottom of the container and work my way around then go up and around again until I reach the top......this way there are no wrinkles in the wrap!!
