Hi all! I'm doing a groom's cake for this weekend and the directions were "I want a fisherman in a bathtub, fishing" so I'm making the "tub" out of the Wilton football pan and have made MMF faucet, spout, etc. My question is I can't get any edible silver or black paint to paint the faucet and the little handle thingies. icon_cry.gif My MMF is already made and is white. Any suggestions to put the "Hot" and "cold" words on the top of the handles and "paint" the spout?? Will Wilton's Shimmer Dust work? Thanks for the help everybody!!

How about mixing regular food paste color with some plain vanilla extract or alcohol and use this as paint? I've done that many times.

what about luster dust????? The shimmer dusts are a totally different thing, they're more sandy and gritty, I don't think you'd want those.

I thought about that but didn't know whether the MMF would "suck up" the color since I was using black. Do they make a metallic gray paste food color? I wonder if I crushed up the Cake sparkles and added some of the black paste color if that would work for the spout.

K, I'd like to use luster dust, but since I'm kind of doing this cake at the last minute I don't have time to get the luster dust here from off the 'Net. Is there somewhere other than like a Hobby Lobby that carries luster dust?

Sometimes faucets have the word "hot" in red, and "cold" in blue...do you have those colors?

Mikasa, I had forgotten that the words are different colors. I do have red paste food coloring and I have some liquid blue. That might just work. I'm still worried about the "silver" for the spout though. Thanks for the great suggestions!
