I too FINALLY have two photos ready!!!!
Photo #1 is a bouquet of butterflies. I made butterflies because when I think of spring I think of the millions of butterflies that fly around while I am driving - and me driving like I am drunk simply because I don't want to hit any of them. Probably best for me to walk . . .
Photo #2 is my take on an Easter bouquet. Bunnies and Easter eggs in a basket. Not very original but I needed to put together something for an order, so I thought I would use it here as well.
If I am lucky I may be able add a third photo, but the month is rapidly winding down. We'll see how it goes.

Oops . . . I attached them backwards (photo #1 is actually photo#2) oh well, it's late icon_rolleyes.gif

Great cookies bbelias! I love the colors. The butterfly on the right almost looks like it has the "peace" sign on it's wings! icon_biggrin.gif

I'd say "A-game" for sure! thumbs_up.gif

Great job on all the cookies that you all have found the time to do. I am new to this and love seeing all the different things that I still have to learn. You are all very creative. I will attempt my first set of cookies this weekend using the cookie cutters and hopefully post by Monday.

Ok...not super creative, but I was doing these anyway for my DS's kindergarten class as gifts. They turned out pretty good, so I thought I'd go ahead and post them here. (I have some others I plan to do next week sometime, as well.) I used some of the large crystal sparkly sugar...not sure I'll do that again, though...the crystals were almost too big. The eggs were a last minute addition, just so I'd have enough cookies...did 5 dozen...for classmates, teacher/teacher's children, school director, secretary, and DS's teacher from last year, which is his favorite teacher. Here they are separately and then packaged for giving. NFSC and Antonia74's icing...Thanks for looking! icon_biggrin.gif

I had to go buy a new memory stick for my camera - AAAARRRGH!!

Anyway, the first pic is supposed to be Spring Bonnets. I was happy with how they came out. The second pic was meant to be daffodils, but after I baked them, I realized they are supposed to have 6 petals and I didn't make any room for leaves. Oh well, now that I took the picture, DH and my daughter are ready to eat them!!

It's been a long time since I used cookie cutters to actually cut cookies!!!

Forgot to add that they are NFSC and Antonia's icing

Wow! everyone's cookies look great! It's o much fun to see what everyone has come up with!

Kos, I really lvoe the gloves. I keep coming back to look at them!

Bonjovibabe - those bunny faces are so great. I love the fine lines on the whiskers (and on the tulips, too).

Slejdick - the eggs are wonderful! such intricate details!! Did you use a cookie cutter for the baskets?

Bbelias - I'd love to get a cookie basket like those!

JennT - what cute packaging idea! What lucky friends!

Kittiskakes - the bonnets and dafodils are great. I'll have to try a 3-d cookie sometime.

Mcalhoun - wow! that was only your 2nd attempt at cookies! I better watch out for you!

OK, so here goes... for some reason, I really only focused on the "april showers" part of the theme, and forgot all about spring! Here's my first picture for this month's theme. I made them 2 different ways, beacuse I wasn't sure what would end up looking better. If anyone has any thoughts on what they like/don't like about either of them, I'd love to hear.

thanks!

Thank you! I had this idea in my head, but I wasn't sure how they would turn out. I was really pleased with how they turned out - they're pretty close to what I was thinking. I've never done a cookie with this intricate a design before.

Sorry, I forgot to mention the recipe - I used the no-fail sugar cookie dough and Antonia74's royal icing.

I decided to try something new, also. For the background light blue, I thinned out the icing (a lot) and then dipped the cookies in it. I'd never tried that before, but had read that some people do it. I definitely don't have the "wrist action" down yet, though, becuase it's really uneven. But it sure did use a lot less icing than I would have if I'd piped it all on.

Keep those cookies comin'! I can't wait to see more!!

Bonniebakes - those ducks are great! My 19 mo old daughter was sitting on my lap when I saw them and started jumping and saying 'Quack, Quack! Duck!" lol icon_lol.gif She LOVES ducks. I've saved that pic to my computer for future reference...just may have to try to do something like that for her one day!

Thanks everyone for the nice comments on my Easter cookies & the packaging! icon_biggrin.gif For some reason, packaging them up is the most fun part for me...lol.. icon_rolleyes.gif Every time I do cookies as gifts for people on a holiday, when I give it to them, they always ask where I got them...then when they see my biz info on the back of the tag/card they realize I made them, or I tell them I made them, and they tell me how special, how adorable, how sweet...lol. It's not so much that they're impressed that I made them, but that they feel special receiving them once they know that I personally made the cookies, etc. for them...it's nice to see that b/c that's what's intended... icon_wink.gif lol. And the orders that follow aren't too bad either... icon_razz.gificon_rolleyes.gif Just a little 'extra'! I gave these out at school on Thursday morning...since then I've gotten 3 orders for cookies and one that is both cookies and a cake!! thumbs_up.gif

I just want to say that everyone is putting such pretty cookies out there!! It's really nice to see everyone's different interpretations of a theme too. And the different techniques people use is great to see! thumbs_up.gif I have some cookies I plan on doing that are more 'related' to the theme of April Showers...just won't have time for about another week, it seems. icon_sad.gif I can't wait to see what gets posted between now & the end of the month...this is fun! icon_biggrin.gif

Ok...Helen....how long are ya gonna make us wait?? icon_razz.gif Come on girl....show us what'cha got!!! icon_lol.gif You know we're all wondering...LOL icon_razz.gificon_lol.gificon_wink.gif
