If all the petal dusts and Luster Dusts are not FDA approved- but they're for cakes, and I've seen so many people paint with them right on the parts people would be eating- how does that work??? I am wanting to order sets of Luster Dusts but I just keep wondering about if it's okay to put them on cakes if it's not stuff people will peel off & put aside before eating. Or is that the only way you can use them (by painting on fondant or stuff that has to be peeled off to eat?) PLEASE ADVISE, someone!!

I have seen them painted on BC before. I am actually doing a bridal shower for my best friend this weekend. I am going to put it on her cake. From what I have heard people say in the forums it probably ok to eat in small amounts that are likely put on cakes.

The only dusts you would need to be concerned with would be ones that contain silver which is considered for deco only by the FDA. This is what gives many luster dusts the shimmery look including gold which is usually silver with yellow added.
