I usually use the cake mix extender recipe, one box mix, one box of pudding, 3/4 cups of water and oil, merinque powder, vanilla extract and 4 eggs. It's always worked for me before but this time it seems really really thick. Is that normal? I did use DH instead of Betty Crocker, if that makes a difference. Does it sound like I forgot something??

Different types of cakes turn out different for me; since you used a different brand, that may be what it is.

Ok.. I'll keep my fingers crossed that's all it is. I have to make another one so if this doesn't turn out, I'll try something else. Thank you!

I normally use betty Crocker too--- this past Sunday I used DH for the first time, and I too found it to be very thick. I guess its just the different brands.

Yeah, that must be it. I took it out of the oven and it seems fine. Just a moment of cake panic! Thank you!
