Another question for this informative group: Would Wilton classes be the way to go to get started in this decorating bix? Thank you !!!

I think so. I learned a lot taking the Wilton classes and really enjoyed it. icon_smile.gif

I say absolutely! icon_biggrin.gif I don't think you can find a better deal then the wilton courses, theres always some kind of discount going on whether it be 1/2 off the class, or the kit for that course free with registration! You'll love the courses and you'll really learn alot. I think it's the best way to get started thumbs_up.gif but thats just my opinion icon_lol.gif

yes, i would think so. i tried my hand at decorating about a year ago and it just seemed way too hard for me not knowing a thing about it... i just finished course 1 and am signed up for course 2... you can check out my cakes now and they look a lot better in my opinion than when i didn't know a thing about this stuff

I think Wilton classes are a good way to start. You can learn a lot of basics there.

However, don't limit your scope to the classes. Check out cake decorating books from the library and look online for ideas, recipes, and techniques (especially here!). There are a lot of decorating ideas and styles that you won't encounter in a Wilton class.
