Buttercream Icing Problem, Help Please....

I am having a problem with my bc icing. It's "melting" once I put it on my cake. I know my cake is cool because it came out of the oven 12 hours ago.
I crumb coated my cake. I made my icing the way I always do...except I used a different mixer, my new kitchenaid. I don't get this. What in the world?!?!?!
Does anyone have any suggestions of a mistake I might have made or how to correct the problem?

Did you use too much liquid when you thinned it out? You may need to use some more powdered sugar to stiffen it up.
