I am a newbie and have a request for a chocolate cake with a vanilla custard filling. First I need a recipe for a vanilla custard and then I need directions on how to use this filling. I have only done jam fillings and regular bc fillings. Does the custard squeeze out or do you put a dam of bc and fill in the middle with custard? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I all ways put a ring of icing around the edges of the cake before filling. I would just make vanilla pudding from scratch.

Thank you so much. That is what I was thinking of doing but was scared and wanted some reassurance.
Thanks again. icon_biggrin.gif
