I used Homestead.com. I thought the price was good. I also found it easy to use and I know nothing about building a website! There is a 30-day trial at Homestead and that will give you plenty of time to try it out and see how it goes. You don't have to publish it to the internet until you are ready, or not. My biggest decision with them was picking out the layout and format of my website since they have over 2000 website formats. Good luck!

Freewebs.com has been great. have to pay small amount if you want to upgrade so that you have no banners on your site, etc., but very easy to use and upkeep.

I went through www.godaddy.com and got my domain name for $2.00 because I purchased a hosting package through them also for $5.00 per month. I found a free website template on the internet and happened to have Frontpage to create it. I paid someone $19 through an ebay auction to create a logo for me and the rest was just my photos and text I wrote.

So for an upfront cost of $17 or so and lots of practice and finding free stuff on the internet I got my website up. Of course, I happened to have Frontpage so that saved a coupe hundred dollars. Godaddy.com also has templates you can use.
