I just got a KA PRO 6 mixer. Can I do MMF and a large batch of buttercream in it easily?

Of course!

I have only made one batch of MMF, but I've done 2 batches of buttercream at a time with no problems! I'm sure it would fit a 3rd batch, but haven't had the need.

An tip, when you dump in your icing sugar, dampen a kitchen towel and drape it over the KA to contain the powdered sugar once the mixer starts! No extra clean up necessary icon_smile.gif

HTH!

mvucic - GREAT IDEA! i'll use that damp towel trick for anything with cocoa, too! icon_biggrin.gif

I have this and use it for my buttercream. I use about 15-16 cups of sugar for 2 batches of icing. I tried a third one time and it did not work. There was way too much -- everywhere icon_surprised.gif . So, I'd say it depends on the amount your one buttercream batch holds if you can do 3. I sure wish I could!!

KA Pro 6 rocks.....3 cake mixes at a time and no problem with MMF (I think you can go up to speed 2 with dough hook).

Enjoy!

I have made as much as a triple recipe of buttercream in mine (6 pounds of sugar). I deliberately wanted it as full as I could get it to reduce air bubbles. It breezed through that.

I prefer making MMF totally by hand, so can't speak to that question.

You should check out some of the discussions on the Kitchenaid discussion forums. They're very helpful. KA suggests speed 2 - no more...no less - for the dough hook.

I've only had my Pro 6 a week, but love it already!
