I have to bake a cake tonight, and it has been so long since I used the baking core, that I forgot the instructions for using it.

first are you using at least a 10" cake pan? this is when it is recommended to be used.
anyway I spray the core really well and will also flour it... put the closed tip side down in the middle of the pan fill the pan... if the core moves slide it back. I put batter in the middle of the core too! so when you pull it out you have something to patch the hole with...
but you can also use a flower nail instead that way you dont have a hole to patch...you do it the same way as a core
