I am in desparate need for any cake recipes that are moist (as well as delicious!,) and are excellent for carving. I am presently using a recipe that taste good but is VERY dry!!! If anyone knows of any, chocolate and/or yellow, please help...it's much appreciated!
I use a recipe from Chocolate From the Cake Mix Doctor. I think it's called Mint Chocolate Cream Cheese Pound Cake. It contains Andes mints, but instead of the Andes mints I use dark chocolate. The minty version is really great, too, but not everyone likes mint. I have made cake sculpture with it and it worked out great.

Try a mud cake... always super moist and they will hold up to any sort of carving.
Try Natis dark chocolate mud cake... its divine

I only ever use mud cakes to carve woth, but I have heard that Madeira cake works well also.
