Do you put cookie cutters in a box? container? where? I have about 20 of them already, i don't use them often. How about the novelty cake pans? i also have my share of them. i use them maybe once a month or so. but not all at the same time of course. I'm running out of space in my apartment for this stuff.

thanks,
Kat

I store my cookie cutters in the plastic sterolite or rubbermade boxes, they stack nice on shelves and the tops keep the dust out. I only have a couple of novelty pans and I stack (as best I can) those in the closet. Hope it helps.

My cookie cutters are in gallon storage bags. My novelty pans and in a stand alone kitchen cabnet and the spill over are in one of those zip close storage bags, like for sweaters or under bed storage.

I keep my cookie cutters in a large crate (I have quite a few of them). For my cake pans, I hung a piece of peg board up in my laundry room and have them hanging like they do in a store display. For the ones that don't hang, I have metal shelfs that they are stacked on. I don't know if that idea will work since you live in an apartment and your landlord would probably not be happy if you hung peg board up. I am also running out of space. I have at least 100 pans, and I just acquired about 100 more. My husband says we're going to have to add on to our house to accommodate my cake decorating stuff!

I have a clear plastic set of 3 drawers for the cookie cutters, so I can still see them but they are out of the wy and dust free. Those darn characer pans are another story. I have large shelves in my closet and just stack them as neatly as possible. Every now and then I'll touch the wrong thing and there'll be an avalanche, so I need a better way for those. I'm pretty lucky to have a walk-in closet for all of my cake stuff though. It really does take up a lots of space!

Not complaining at all! icon_biggrin.gif DH is another story. There is a girl I work with and her father in law repos trailer houses and whatever is in the houses he has to take. These people had at least 500 pans, tons of candy molds, tips, cookie cutters... the list goes on. She said I could take whatever I wanted. They must have been in business because there were a lot of duplicates, but they also had pans that are no longer available. I was in heaven, but when I came home with a trunk and car full of cake stuff, my hubby threw a fit. Too bad for him, we all have our addictions, right? He'll get over it!

The doors in my house open inwards and that is wasted space, so in the storeroom, kitchen and office I got my husband to put in some white grids that you let roses and other ranking flowers rank up in the garden. Got some hooks from Ikea and all pans that have holes in them are hung up against the wall. The storeroom has these grids up on one side of the whole room, as it is a very narrow room with shelving on the other side. That way, I could use the entire room and it was very cost effective with the grids from a gardening centre. Ok if I don't use the pans a long time, they get a bit dusty, but I wash them before use each time anyway, so that doesn't bother me that much.
