I just made these for this past weekend and may I just say a BIG THANK YOU to the 2 people who posted them on this site!!!!! Those cookies were absolutely delicious!!! Even my DH said they were great, and he is not big on sugar cookies!! I will definately make them both again. THANK YOU!!!!!

Oh! one question: has anyone experimented by putting a flavoring in the icing such as lemon? What have you used and how did they turn out? (ok, 3 questions because the 2nd has 2 parts!!!) icon_wink.gif

I made them for the first time this week also. I put some lemon extract in the cookies but not the icing (it has some oil in it). So when I made my icing I subsituted 1/2 the water with lime juice and both turned out yummy! I HAD been doing so good on Weight Watchers before trying those darn cookies! icon_cry.gif

I also want to thank everyone for the wonderful recipe's and ideas!

Ooohhh!! I never thought about the oil in the flavoring. Are there oil-less flavorings that could be used? If so, where do you get them?

The imitation flavorings do not have oil. Its just the extracts you have to watch out for.

You don't want to use the oil extracts if you are using royal icing. If you are using Alice's or some of the others, it doesn't matter. thumbs_up.gif
