I have been asked to make this cake for this weekend. This is the only picture I have of it. Is it just me or do you see another swag going around the right side of the cake too? I've never seen one like that but it looks to me like it comes down from the left then on the second layer it goes to the left and right. Am I seeing things? What do you guys think?

Yep...looks like that to me. It comes down from the top the the middle of the bottom tier and there's a swag going each way...left and right. It's not you....just the lighting in the pic, I think...lol icon_razz.gif Very pretty cake! Have fun with it!! thumbs_up.gif

Thanks guys! Do you think that the two swags meet up in the back of the cake?

Wow, that's beautiful!! That's big, too, considering the size of the carriage. If mine weren't buried in one of my giant cake supply storage boxes, I'd get it out just to see exactly how big that base tier it.

I'm thinking 14"?

I think that on the back bottom tier, they come together, but one is higher than the other, the one you can see best is lower than the one coming the other way. It also seems to be a flower where they meet. Very pertty cake please post your pics when done

The carriage is an item sold by Wilton.

I guess Wilton discontinued it because I couldn't find it on their website (they have a new $30 'updated' version), and on eBay they're calling the old plastic one "vintage." Link

It looks to me that the top tier has one swag that turns into two on the second tier and wraps around and closes in the back. If you look to the left side of this picture at the back of the cake, you will see the end of a swag that is just behind the one swag that is easiest to see on the second tier. OMG do I make sense here????

It is a beautiful cake. I would love to make it someday, I've never tried swags, don't seem like they're too difficult but looks are deceiving and I don't know what I'd make a cake like that for!!! Good luck!

Thank you all for the support! Hopefully it will turn out well! You can buy the pumpkin carriage at sugarcraft.com, but I got mine from ebay because the shipping charges were less and I had it in two days!

Ok.. here's how it turned out before I added cinderaella. I swear last night I wanted to throw it out the window! I will NEVER again do swags on buttercream! My swags are a little diffent. The top swag has a curvy ribbon coming down the side of it from a bow at the back. I hand painted the castle. It came all white. So glad this one is done!
