I would love to make a chocolate chip cake but I can't seem to find a recipe here.

Can I just add chocolate chips to a yellow cake mix?? Or does someone have a recipe??

Thanks!! icon_biggrin.gif

I made a CC cake last week, used the butter cake recipe from the Cake Mix Doctor - let me know if you need it. I have also made the CC LB cake from the Whimsical Bakehouse - very yummy

I have made them (in pie pans) with the actual cookie batter. You just have to cook carefully to make sure the edges don't burn and the center gets done. I used a cookie batter that includes oatmeal and a few other things. Maybe I should list it in the recipes.

Is this a cookie cake or a cake with choc chips in it? if it is the cake with chips, make sure you toss the chips in flour before you add them to the mix otherwise they have a tendency to all go to the bottom. icon_smile.gif

Here's a recipe for chocolate chip cake. It calls for a bundt pan, but you could probably adapt it. HTH

PACKABLE CHOCOLATE CHIP CAKE
1 box yellow cake mix, with pudding in the mix
8 ounces sour cream
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup water
4 eggs, lightly beaten
1 to 1 1/2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips ( toss the chips in a small amount of flour to coat before adding, prevents them from sinking to the bottom of the cake)
confectioners sugar for dusting

In mixing bowl, combine cake mix, oil, sour cream, water and eggs. Beat for 2 minutes on medium speed. Fold in chocolate chips. Pour into greased 10 inch fluted pan. Bake in pre-heated 350 degree F oven for 45-50 minutes. Cool in pan for 20 minutes. Remove to wire rack. Just before serving, dust with powdered sugar.

12-16 servings

No idea how it would work for cupcakes. I don't see why not! Sorry I can't be more helpful. icon_smile.gif
