Hi, I basicly got the cake they want individual card cakes. And for them a two tier 6 & 10 inch cake. But the bride and groom wants a the exact same picture of of the playing cards of course the King and Queen of hearts. Here is my question. Where can I take the playing cards and get a edible image of it to place either on a sugar cookie or white chocolate?

see if the local bakeries in town have edible images
You might try the walmart we sell ours for 5 bucks a sheet That being the case you would want to get as many images on one sheet as possible. what you can do is work up an image at home on the ol puter print it out and take that wiith you to the store for them to scan and copy.

Ok, I will check with them. But I thought that a lot of bakeries do not do sell you the image like that.

I don't know if you'd be interested in this option, but you could purchase a chocolate mold for the cards. i purchased one from sugarcraft.com, that is a very detailed playing card. Actually it's a little too detailed for me, i haven't tried it yet. but the cards molds are facecards(king, queen, ace, etc.)

Mayra...

Do you have a scanner? Or are you going to have to rely on someone to do all of your graphics prep for you?

Are they wanting a particular deck of cards...or just the queen and king of hearts from any deck? If any deck will do, I could email you a couple of scans. The deck sitting in front of me right now has Saddam Hussein on it, but I think I can find a traditional one around here somewhere. icon_smile.gif

Are the final images to be life-size?

Once you figure out who's going to print them for you, then it's a question of format. If they can take a Word file, a whole page can easily be laid out. If they can take only a graphics file, and if they aren't able to lay out multiples themselves.... then the graphics would have to be diddled with a little bit. But, with the right software, that's no biggie. I'm saying this because I suspect the typical person who runs the typical Walmart bakery printer isn't a graphics whiz and is used to just loading up a file and running with it.

You're going to get a MUCH better quality print-out if you print directly from the file rather than printing out files and having them scan or copy the print out and then print the icing sheets from that. Every time you create a new "generation" in the chain, you lose quality. But then again...I'm picky. If your customer isn't tuned in to the differences, that might be the way to go.

Anyway - if you need some graphics help, I'd be happy to do whatever I can. I'm kind of - er, uh - unemployed...at the moment and have lots of free time. icon_smile.gif

Hi all,
No I dont have a scanner, but I did get in contact with Wal-Mart and they do sell the images for $5 a sheet. I will test it out and see how the quality looks on it. But please if you all have any more suggestions they are all welcomed.

Thanks again.
