How long can I keep Roled Butercream Icing (recipe here on Cake Central)? Is there anything special I have to do before using it again?

Also, can it be kept on the counter wrapped in saran and if so, for how long.

I froze some for several weeks and it seemed fine to me. I just wrapped it really well
