Hi all.
I am new to the forum. I'm trying to make a tiered cake, for the first time. I've looked up in the wilton's website and seen their collection of pillars. I don't understand how the tiers are put together. The pillars I've seen have a base with a wider circumference than the pole itself. How do you put it through the cake? Also, should I ice the top of the cake after I push the pillars through?

I should point out that where I live these types of cakes are not common, and it's hard to find these items. I'm not sure I could find them easily.

What should I do?
