I've gotten a few requests for marbled cakes. I've seen one kind of marble mix in the store, but I've read on wedding cake site that any of their flavors could be marbled together. Does anyone ever do this or know how it would work? Wouldn't cake mixes run together if they're not different consistencies (one slightly thicker or thinner than the other)?? icon_rolleyes.gif
I would love to be able to do something like that to add some flair to the cakes when they're cut- any tips would be greatly appreciated!

For the DH mix, it's yellow cake with chocolate as the "marble". After you pour the yellow in the pan, you pour about 1 cup of chocolate in lines through the pan. Then get a knife and run it through the lines to get the "marble" affect. There's no reason why you coudn't do this with any recipe.

I use the DH marble cake mix. I've tried other variations (using white and yellow cake), but this always comes out tasting best.

I use a yellow cake mix and a chocolate mix and slightly mix them together and then pour into the pan. This is when I need two mixes.

I offer Vanilla Fudge marble (my vanilla cake with my fudge cake). I pour the vanilla batter in the pan about half full, then I take the fudge batter and put spoonfuls all around on the vanilla. Then I take a knife and swirl it all together, bringing the vanilla up from the bottom and in from the edges so it's completely marbled.
