Wow! That's a lot of gree~huh? I think a top border might do it...but...I don't know if you would want to do that with your roses up there. I'm still thinking.

I think maybe you should add a little bit of another color.

The cake is for a St. Patty's Day party and the person I am making for didn't want any other colors than green. It is a bring something green food party. The cake is even green! icon_biggrin.gif

I take it this cake is for St. Paddy's day tomorrow. I love the festive green!
My ideas would be to add a second border from the top like a mirror image of the bottom one; you know the same but opposite (u-shaped).
I would also add leaves a darker shade of all the greens. Do you have green sprinkles? Not the sugar grain kind but the flakes? That might add a nice shimmery touch too.
Interested to see how you choose to complete this pretty cake.
Please post!! icon_smile.gif

Would you do the "Star" Border and then the upside down u-shape?
I wanted to do shamrock orginally, but the person I am making it for wanted roses!

I think you should keep it kinda simple because it is already too busy. The only thing I would add is a top border. Like leaves coming down with the same green as the bottom border. Like the picture below:

The border and the roses are the same color. Should I try to take some of the roses off? I did what the person wanted.

Maybe if you just did a small simple border, in the same color as the bottom border and then added some leaves in with the roses...a darker green leaf.

The roses are perfect! In my opinion (I am a newbie to cake decorating, but seen alot of cakes), and I think you need a top border that comes down alittle bit to accomodate some of the "not decorated part" on the sides of the cake.

Good Luck!

The roses are great, in fact I see bare spaces that I would put more roses. It would just be a full bed of roses!
With a darker green leaves that hang over the edge a bit you could forego a top border altogether although I still think a u-shaped border like the one below would not look bad at all; just omit a top border of stars and let the leaves hang over a bit...but not so precise or in a perfect row....more natural.
Now we're probably overwhelming you with ideas you poor thing!!!!!! icon_biggrin.gif

I tired making a darker border and leaves but, they just were not working and the cake needed to be picked up. So I thought why tinker with it anymore. The person who got the cake loved it!! And I recieved some nice praise and a nice potted plant! It worked out great for me!

I like your cake. It reminds me of a cake on the cover of a wilton book.
Maybe add a few dots here and there in the middle.
I don't think it's busy at all.
