...so how can I get those new looking colors? How do you all do it? On some of the wedding and whimsy cakes, the colors are very different. Like sage green or a mauve or khaki or etc....like the colors of new houses being built? Do ya know what I mean? How do ya get those colors? Trial and error???

Black and brown mute colors,but use very little. Pink, lemon yellow, leaf green etc look electric is done w/ a lot of color. Juniper green works well for sage green. Willow green and kelly green are more bluish tones and Juniper and leaf green lean more to the yellow tones. I am talking about Wilton colors. I don't know about Americolor. There are also charts that tell you how to get different colors. I believe there is one on this site under tutertorials. Hope this answers some of your question.
