How Much Fondant?

I read a post some weeks ago about pounds of fondant per square inch of cake. I can't find it now, though. So now I am asking for that information from all of you! I have a wedding cake to do in May and after discussion with the bride we have opted for fondant and not melting buttercream. The layers are going to be pretty tall so I need to know how much I'm dealing with.

The guide of how much to use for each size cake is normally included in the box

I believe she's going to try the Satin Ice fondant...and isn't sure how much to order.
