I know you can safely and efficiently freeze cakes but is it possible to do the same with uncooked cakes? That is to say, batter. Will it still bake the same or is it just not worth the effort?

Cheers,

I honestly don't know. I do know that on box mixes, and I prefer DH by the way, they say to use the batter right away.

I know I didnt' answer your question, so here's a BUMP!

There was a similar discussion in this forum not very long ago -- see the thread "Left over batter" at

Freezing batter works for me, but with bated breath we await the results of PSLCakeLady's experiments.
