My son will turn 8 in May and we are having his birthday at the opening of the Star Wars movie. I would like to make him a 3D Yoda head cake but I have no idea how to do this. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. You can contact me directly at [email protected]. Thanks

That will be such a cool cake! What a lucky little boy. I made a Spiderman bust for my nephew and I blogged the directions. I'm sure if you wanted to you could turn Spidey into Yoda.

For that cake, I used a crusting buttercream. After it crusted, I laid a Viva paper towel on it and gently smoothed it with my hand.

My son too (and dh) is a star wars nut. I made my son's 6th birthday cake in that theme. I created a light saber out of fondant and recreated the swamp scene on the cake. The cake was 1/2 chocolate cake, 1/2 chocolate chip ice cream.

This was only the third "real" cake that I had made, but I think it came out pretty good. It was very yummy!

I think you could make that using the Pampered Chef batter bowl for the body and a cupcake for the head. It's too cute!
