I just got asked to donate a cake for my childs school family/bingo night. The PTA wants to raffel off my cake. This is a great way to get my name out there, there are over 500 students at my daughter's school. I need a show stoper cake! Any thoughts?

I was thinking Bingo, but it is not just a Bingo thing, it is a huge fund raiser night? I need something that appeals to the kids and parents so they buy the raffel tickets...

Any thoughts? icon_rolleyes.gif

you could do a cake with the school mascot on it. make a cake in the shape of a school bus, or just go wild and crazy and do something neat like a castle or something. i think the castle would appeal to all the kids and would want there parents to get them one for their birthday. think of it as an advertisement for kids. they are the ones that are going to be begging for their parents to get them the cake that you make. also make sure you have business cards with you so when someone ask you about it, just hand them a card so they can contact you. its all about networking your product.

They are kind enough to let me set out my photo book and cards next to the cake, and they said that they would do promo's over the PA about my cake and state my name!

I like the castle idea....I was thinking spring...I am just not sure icon_rolleyes.gif

How about
- a 3D cake of the school mascot
- a sheet cake made like a desk with books & an apple on top w/ the
worm coming out it
- someone here posted a popcorn bucket cake & movie reel that they
used tootsie rolls on
- sports theme if the have a sports team
- 3D school bus
- 3D school house with fondant kids

If you have access to do the edible image thing, I think a cake with an edible image of the principal would make all the kids want it.
I think that it would be unique and orginal. A one of a kind deal!

The mascot is a Terrior ( the Dog)??? Not so much fun...

I would love something 3-D..It is for Elementary school kids...

Since it is a bingo night what do you all think about a 3-d farm cake with a dog, the terrior, and I could put
"their was a farmer who had a dog and BINGO was his namo???"

Too corney???Too babyish????

This would be more of a "girly cake"...but how about a purse cake with the terrior sticking out? Kinda like the Pooch Purses they sell for girls now. My daughter loves hers.

I forget where I saw this idea, but someone made a girly cake with a purse and lipstick, etc. AND a seperate boyish cake with NASCAR for their school fundraiser. That way they had people with sons and daughters bidding for their cakes.
