I currently have an iced cake in the freezer that I would like to pull out and ice. My question is do I leave it wrapped as it is now or can I can the saran/foil off the cake as soon as I pull it out of the freezer?

I usualy unwrap mine right away, because it's easier to get the saran wrap off while the cake is still frozen.

I always leave mine wrapped until it thaws out. I have always heard that it helps the cake retain the moisture that it gets from being frozen.
