The only store we have around here is Michaels and they don't carry much. It's a good 45 minutes to the closest baking supply store.

Are there any good websites for tools and supplies??

I ordered several items from www.cakesbysam.com. It took awhile to get them because I ordered hand made items but when I got them I was pleased. Also, AC Moore in Mays Landing has more (different) stuff than Michaels.

I found one the other day, confectioneryhouse.com. Not sure how good they are yet as I just put in an order for some pans today. I did like the prices though. Hope it helps

This is a reply on the confectioneryhouse.com site. I ordered 2 pans from them on Monday the 13th and recieved them today the 16th. I ordered the professional 12 x 18 x 3in and the 8 x 12 x2 in and they are sooo nice. They have great edges and the welding on the side is impecciable (sp?) They are not Wilton, but for the price they sure look like them. Hope this helps some.

www.cakesbysam.com

Ordered a bunch of fondant and received it in like 3 days and free shipping! I also ordered a silver cake plateau from them for my wedding a few years ago and got it really fast as well.

Ordered a bunch of fondant from Pfeil & Holing (www.cakedeco.com) too. The shipping was pretty pricey, but they have a lot of great stuff on their site.

Ordered a bunch of cake boards (masonite and other) from www.sugarcraft.com. They have a great selection, but I honestly hate their website. It's like a big cluster of junk. They should work on organizing it and making it a bit easier to find stuff.

Other than that, I buy stuff from a local cake and candy decorating supply store, which doesn't help you any.

I've also used the cakesbysam and sugarcraft sites and they both have had excellent service and quality products. I've been fortunate to find some specialty cake stores half an hour from here too, so I can get some novelty items there too (and get all my edible images from them since I can drive down to pick them up). They have a web site too http://www.decofacil.net

I saw on this post that there was free shipping on cakesbysam, so I got on there. Well, there may not be shipping, but they charge a handling fee. (Same difference to me.)

Hi Sara Cakes

I am from Canada too and have ordered from Golda's Kitchen they are very prompt. I just ordered state side from www.beryls.com and have not received a reply as yet but they had some cake transfers that I was interested in that Golda's kitchen didn't have. I guess you can only get the ones I wanted state side. I also shop at Michaels and bulk barn.
Where are you located I live in Windsor.

Kathy R.
