Alright--I admit it. I am a ditz!!!

Had a wedding cake order for today. First meeting with clients was on Monday (3-6) and future MIL explained that future DIL had been dragging her feet. Small wedding for no more than 50 people. Bride finds a cake in Wilton Romantic Portfolio. Wants round cake with the gumpaste leaves around bottom (can't remember page #). And painted--SILVER? No topper but wants initials sticking out of top. For the groom's cake, she wants my most popular--Jerry Cake with chocolate dipped strawberries and the same initials sticking out the top.

SILVER??? Made leaves and let dry. Everything going good. Attempted to paint leaves Friday nite (3-10) and they looked awful--luckily only painted 3 of them, so I made an executive cake decorator decision and used pearl. Explained to MIL that leaves weren't looking good in silver so she agreed to pearl. Made white chocolate and dark chocolate initials for toppers on Saturday nite.

Sunday AM--got up to decorate cakes--wedding at 3:00, would leave about 1:00 to set-up and put finishing touches on cake on-site. Best friend came over to help, dipped stawberries and chocolate tiles. 12:45--getting things loaded in car and look at order form--WEDDING IS AT 2:00!!! Call the lady so she wouldn't panic--I was doing that enough. Left house at 1:00 and arrived at 1:20.

Luckily the wedding cake was on the floating tiers stand. Had to finish border, apply the leaves and make a few BC roses for the top to have the initials coming out of. Friend set up groom's cake, no time for border on bottom cake just covered with strawberries and put initials on top surrounded by strawberries. 7 minutes till 2:00.

NO CAMERA!!! FORGOT MY FREAKIN' CAMERA--AGAIN!!! Asked photog to please get a pic of each cake and I will pay for extra print. Left the wedding site and went furniture shopping. So I will post the pics as soon as I get them from photog.

isn't that always the way, I have a 80th BD cake to do and I thew out the paper for the date, luckily I know the person who ordered it and will confirm the date. But it always seems to happen at the wrong time.

Sounds really pretty...can't wait to see the photo when you get it. I have to say that your "Jerry" grooms cake is one of my favorites!! I looks so good...I swear if you gave me a fork I could eat the whole thing in one sitting
