Has anyone ever done a 3D cupcake before, or have you seen any pictures? I'd like to try to do one so any tips would be greatly appreciated...

Giant Cupcake idea, stack 3 or 4 round cake layers with icing between the layers, chill and then trim the lower portion at an angle to look like a cupcake. Leave the top cake layer so it has a nice dome. Then use colored icing for the section of the "cupcake" that would be papered and a nice big swirl of icing on top. Or use a cake baked in a pyrex bowl for the top. If you have the Pyrex bowls that are way larger at the top than the bottom (shaped like a Wonder mold (Doll Cake Pan) only bottom is flat they will make an excellent bottom then place a round pyrex bowl cake on top or a round layer cake domed on top. If you want to make a cake liner cut the appropriate size circle out of parchment paper and decorate with a pattern if you choose to then fold it in half 3 times then fold it accordian style

Hope this helps some !!!
