I'm try to make a cake right now but its too crumbly so I want to freeze it but it has pudding between the layers. Will the pudding still be allright if it gets frozen? Will it be easier to frost the cake if it's frozen or at least chilled?
Thanks,

I don't have any firsthand experience, but since pudding is milk based, I would say no. It seems it would seperate and turn liquidy. Bumping you up, maybe someone else can answer this for you. Good luck. icon_smile.gif

puddings are usually at lest somewhat cornstarch based, and cornstarch gets spongy and not very good at all if frozen.

I'm sorry icon_sad.gif

Thanks for the answers. I didn't freeze it just chilled it so it wasn't to crumbly and the pudding didn't get ruined.
Thanks again for the answers!

I have frozen cakes with pudding filling with no ill effects. The pudding soaks into the cake for the most part anyway so it does not really affect the final product.
